Firstly our best wishes to all our customers, partners and suppliers during this unprecedented time of uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak.

Obviously travelling to attend wildlife tours is not an option during this period of social distancing and self-isolation. As countries strive to slow the relentless march of the novel coronavirus, people understandably have more pressing concerns, and future travel is the last thing on their minds. People’s safety and security are our highest priorities here at Ireland’s Wildlife Tours, so we’ve made some difficult decisions in relation to our tours and guiding services on Ireland’s wild south coast.

Ireland’s Wildlife Tours

We’ve decided to cancel our longer tours (6 day Ireland’s Wild South Coast and 4 day West Cork Wildlife Taster) for 2020. We’ll revisit these for the 2021 season when travel is safe and tourism is back on people’s agendas. If you have booked one of our longer tours we’ll be in touch shortly to offer a refund of your deposit or the option to bank the credit against a future tour or custom guiding itinerary.

Discover Wildlife Weekends

Our popular Discover Wildlife Weekends are scheduled for late April, July, August and October 2020. Bookings for weekends typically come in later, and most participants are Irish, so don’t have to travel from overseas to get here. They are therefore more flexible in terms of rescheduling/cancelling than our longer itineraries.

We’re liaising with our accommodation partner, The Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery, and monitoring the latest advice from Government Agencies and Health Professionals in terms of proceeding with the weekends. At the moment it’s looking unlikely the April weekend will proceed, but we’ll be making a final call on that towards the end of the month as the outlook becomes clearer. Of course, if you’re booked on any of the weekends this year we’ll be in touch to keep you posted via email as soon as we have any definite news.

As with the longer tours, if we have to cancel your weekend you’ll be offered a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your booking to a future weekend.

Wildlife Guiding Services

Our custom wildlife and birding guide services are on hold until further notice. We will not be accepting new bookings for guiding services or running any scheduled wildlife walks until the current advice on social distancing is relaxed.

Thanks for your patience and support over this difficult time. Stay safe and well, and we look forward to sharing some wild times on the West Cork with you again soon.
